This is a template page. READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
You are provided with this team page template with which to start the iGEM season. You may choose to personalize it to fit your team but keep the same "look." Or you may choose to take your team wiki to a different level and design your own wiki. You can find some examples HERE.
You MUST have the following information on your wiki:
  • a team description
  • project description
  • safety information (did your team take a safety training course? were you supervised in the lab?)
  • team attribution (who did what part of your project?)
You may also wish to add other page such as:
  • lab notebook
  • sponsor information
  • other information
REMEMBER, keep all of your pages within your teams namespace.
Example: 2013hs.igem.org/Team:BJHS_Madison_AL/Our_Pets

You can write a background of your team here. Give us a background of your team, the members, etc. Or tell us more about something of your choosing.

Tell us more about your project. Give us background. Use this as the abstract of your project. Be descriptive but concise (1-2 paragraphs)

Bob Jones High School logo.jpg

Bob Jones High School is located in the ever-growing town of Madison, AL. Madison County has developed from a farming community to a high-tech center that reflects the foresight, planning and hard work of people who want to shape the future yet preserve our rich heritage. iGems is a fantastic way to help teach children the importance of education and technology.

Project

We will insert the human insulin coding part and a glucagon-like coding part into the machine. We will use a two part system and insert two separate compatible plasmids into the plasmid backbone. The machine's promoters should respond to changes in environmental glucose levels and produce either a glucagon-like peptide (with hypoglycemic environmental levels) or a human insulin peptide (with hyperglycemic environmental levels).

Notebook

Show us how you spent your days.

Safety

Ms. Morris and Dr. Zahorchak gave an orientation in the Huson Alpha facility, where we are doing majority of our labs, of how to handle and dispose of materials and parts, and what is proper lab attire (e.g. wear closed toed shoes, long pants, etc.).
