Safety
- All procedures were carried out in a clean area. This area was set up as detailed below, and ensured that no external microorganisms contaminated plates or tubes.
- Bunsen burners were on at all times, such that a updraft was always present.
- Prior to any procedures taking place, the entire area which was to be used was scrubbed down with antiseptic.
- 2. All waste was disposed of in separate, marked bins. The contents of these were then incinerated.
