<font size=4><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; We are from Lambert High School in Georgia. We are Georgia's first high school iGEM team and we are very excited to be part of this group. Our instructor is Mrs. Janet Standeven, who teaches biology and environmental science at Lambert. We are sponsored by Dr. Mark Styczynski from Georgia Tech's Chemical Engineering department. The members of our iGEM team are very enthusiastic about biotechnology and molecular engineering. We are grateful for opportunity to gain experience in synthetic biology and to have been able to work in research labs at the Georgia Institute of Technology.</font>

Our project is to genetically modify cells to aid humans in danger. We, at Lambert, are going to modify special enzymes in cells that notice the presence of carbon monoxide. Once the cell has been notified that there is carbon monoxide in a given area, it will excrete chemicals to produce colors.

Cells are magnificant organisms! They compose of all organic materials and are the 'building blocks' of humans. Cells have certain characteristics about them that makes them great for usage. They are small in size, thus people wont have to use gigantuan machines.

Many elementary, middle, and high schools lately have been reporting carbon monoxide poisoning. Lambert_GA is trying to create a reliable and simple solution to that problem. Having these indicators can greatly reduce the number of injuries and mortalities that have been caused.
