Abstract
The purpose of our experiment is to produce a topical cream that can be used to detect skin cancer. In order to do so, we will start with triple antibiotic resistant Eco li. and then create a plasmid that has been genetically modified to detect and glow in the presence of skin cancer. Our plasmid will consist of a biosensor for melanocytes (specifically the EGFR protein). After detection, our plasmid will code for the production of firefly glow, which will show the patient where the melanocytes are detected.
