Future Aspirations for our Part
By engineering a reliable coldshock promoter, we can provide a switch to turn on gene expression in order to control cell protein expression using temperature. Specifically, this is useful in cellular conditions where the proteins are temperature-sensitive, and may be optimal at lower temperatures than cell growth. We are trying to add HybB to the Registry of Standard Parts, so that other teams can use this in the future.
