Consort School Team
This is our first year in the competition. Our class heard about this competition in late November from our Biology teacher, Gerry Bourassa, when he returned from a Science Conference. The class started brainstorming ideas for our project right after we signed up in late January. After which we

Project
Our focus during this project has been to construct E. Coli to detect Xylene, an aromatic-hydrocarbon. Our bacteria will do this by producing a protein named xylR, which in the presence of Xylene will produce a Green Florescent Protein.

Meet The Team
Consort is a small town on the eastern side of Alberta, Canada. Each member of our team is in our Biology 30 course, and is striving for a new experience such as iGEM. This competition is enriching our education while having a fun time doing it. Here is a link if you would like to meet our team.
Fun Facts!
Our Team members have a variety of activities we do for fun. Some of them include sports- such as Basketball, Golf, and Hockey. Other things involve reading, learning and writing stories.
