Human Practices

We are iGEMers!!!
As a worldwide competition, iGEM has spread to high school students. Aiming to build biological systems from interchangeable parts and modifying living cells, iGEM attracts fervent science funs to seek the truth of biology engineering. But wait! Do we, as numbers of crazy iGEMers, attempt to enlarge our scope of influence? Why not entice others to quit their tedious homework and embrace the happiness of biology engineering?
Why iGEM? IGEM serves as a tool to develop our ability to cooperate, negotiate and compromise. IGEM epitomizes the strength of teamwork, the power of brainstorming and the omnipotence of biology engineering. Why refuse it? While it brings us unprecedented enjoyment, iGEM reminds us the importance of spreading it around our schools or communities. Why not change all to iGEMers? Sounds a little bit irrational, hum?
Yet being a member of iGEMers motivates people to be responsible for revealing the truth of iGEM and even biology engineering (has it something to do with chicken or beef?). Moreover, iGEMers form as a bloc to attract more people to join us. Why not induce people to regard iGEMers as a subculture rather than counterculture? We, iGEMers, lead average lives, share similar passion for sports and suffer from procrastination when dealing with homework.
Yes, try to reveal our original yet familiar spheres, and boost the development of iGEM.
Fire! iGEMers!

Acknowledgement

Sincerely thank for the encouragement and instruction from Professor Chen Guoqiang of Tsinghua University.
Sincerely thank for the help and instruction about experimental strategies and reagent application from Li Teng.
Sincerely thank for the reagent support from New England Biolabs.

Safety

As lovely iGEMers, we highly recognize the significance of safety during the experiment. Albeit being iGEMers, we were not professional enough to ensure our absolute safety when doing experiment. Therefore, before doing somewhat dangerous yet exciting experiment, we are informed of the safest way to fulfill every step and are warned of the possible dire resurlt. Doing experiment is fun, yet safety matters. Although we have frequently used EB (yes, that EB!!!), we are careful enough not to be harmed by it. Rembering all essential rules about the experiment we obtained from the internet or former experience, we, iGEMers, ensure our safety while enjoying a lot by learning biology. As long as gaining rules about experiment and keeping using them, we can enjoy the happiness biology brings to us without getting hurt.
GOOD LUCK!
