<p>Our newly developed BioBrick parts have absolutely no safety issues. Our parts are only comprised of flourescent proteins, promoters, RBSs, and inducer-coding reporter genes on top of antibiotic resistant plasmid backbones (psB1A3, pSB1K3, and pSB1C3).

Safety is always the Agency’s greatest concern. In our room we dealt with limited work-space; we had to prioritize our use of space; safety always came first.

Safety is always The Agency’s greatest concern. Thus, we always work with gloves in the lab and present our MSDS documents to our team members before they begin to work with them. Our team's safety officer and his deputies continue to develop more and more MSDSs. Future iGEM competitions should begin to adopt our safety practices and develop a central iGEM repository of MSDSs of commonly used reagents. The Agency will gladly host the MSDSs for the iGEM high school program.
