Safety
School Rules

Safety Exposures
One of the most visible problems that we noted in the laboratory to interview several of our colleagues was that they did not know the rules of the laboratory and the precautions to take when using the material, this claiming that the regulations that were in the lab were too extensive and contained words too technical and therefore did not understand most or drew attention not read them. This meant that most of the student population did not know the correct way to work in the laboratory area and this could cause a number of problems that would cover from a failed practice, to damage someone.

Seeing this Safety team set out to solve this problem. We summarize regulations trying to not lose anything, and use colloquial words for easy understanding, also use bright colors and bold images alluding making them. Subsequently printed in tabloid size (measures 27.94cm x 43.18 cm), to the school board and managers of laboratories the idea was very usefully and necessary so they don’t only printed also framed it and placed in the most strategic points of the three laboratories in the High school.

The security rules in laboratory are:

1. Always wear the lab coat, long pants and closed shoes, with the hair up.
2. When handling corrosive substances should wear glasses and rubber gloves.
3. Read practice before working on it and always follow the master.
4. Notify promptly any accident to the teacher.
5. Do not eat, drink or smoke in the laboratory.
6. No fire near flammable materials.
7. Do not add water to acid.
8. When handling glass, you must wait for it to cool. Especially the test tubes are heated from the top down.
9. When arming equipment or structures to use a bracket on the desk.
10. When finished using the material should clean all equipment and areas in which they worked.
11. You should not play or run in the laboratory.
12. No drainage disposal of hazardous materials
