March 1, 2013.

  1. Meetings are currently scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays every week, unless otherwise stated.
  2. Talked about a parental meeting on the 11th of March.
  3. Workshop in Calgary (March 23/24). Who will be there?
March 4, 2013.
  1. Discussed plans for Parental Meeting, Workshop on 23/24th
  2. "iGEM high school DNA Assembly Guide" handed out. Informed everyone to read it.
  3. Talked about project ideas. Prevailing idea at the time was an Algae Lamp for Photosynthesis.
  4. Covered various applications for travel and grants.
March 11, 2013.
  1. Informed parents on...
    1. Synthetic Biology- what it is, how we do it, dangers, and benefits.
    2. Dates to remember- Future workshops, meeting times, and flights to and from Greenfield, Indiana. (Location changed since then.)
    3. Costs for being in the iGEM group.
March 18, 2013.
  1. Covered what to bring to the iGEM workshop the following weekend.
March 23rd and 24th, 2013. March 25, 2013.
  1. Talked about our next workshop on May 11/12. What we should have vs. What we need for the Workshop.
  2. Talked about the Wiki Freeze (approx. June 16) and Competition at MIT.
  3. Talked about possible sponsors.

April 29, 2013.
  1. Choose a person for making a video/presentation.
  2. Project has two circuits:
    1. Constutive (always on)- produces xylR. xylR binds with xylene. Now Detectable by promoter.
    2. Regulative circuit. Stimulated by xylene-xylR molecule. Result: production of reporter (may be green fluorescent protein).

May 11/12, 2013.
  • This weekend we went to a workshop in Edmonton, and went over the following material...
    1. We presented our Presentation, and got tips and pointers towards how to improve.
    2. We talked about our project and gained insight on how to make it better, and what device to test it with.
    3. There were a number of guest speakers (from Canada, New York, California, etc.) who gave helpful information on how to work our Human Practices.
May 13, 2013.
  1. Looking up parts for our Circuits.

June

June 10-21st, 2013.
  • Throughout the two weeks we worked diligently, to finish the Wiki, and Human Practices documentation.
  • We came in every week day to work on what we could, and prepare for the presentation in Boston.
  • There was a Public Presentation (Parents and Community) on June 18th.
