Television Note - Return

Something important we wished to accomplish in our human practices was to spread knowledge about synthetic biology to people all around the city. In past activities, we were limited to people belonging to the UANL and some other junior highs that were interested in learning, but we wanted to extend it. For this, we found two interested television companies film news feed about us, about our project.

Televisa Monterrey - Return

The first company, Televisa, came at 10:00 a.m. and asked us basic questions about our work; they were curious about what we had designed, details about the competition and why we had chosen to work with a bioinsecticide. We told them how we had been working since September, learning fundamental things about molecular biology and laboratory techniques that our school didn’t teach; we had to learn things that were taught only in college. Two of our team members were interviewed along with our team leader, MC. Jannet Salinas, who is also a teacher at CIDEB.

Multimedios Television - Return

The second interview was from a television company called Multimedios. They arrived around mid-day, and we explained to them mostly the same things we did to Televisa. We even mentioned the importance of synthetic biology in the issues our country faces with potato crops. We told them about the trip to Galeana that one of a team members made, to interview some farmers who had been having trouble with the white worm attacking their crops. These sources were chosen because they’re the most watched television companies in our city, therefore supporting our efforts of spreading synthetic biology in our community.
