The iGEM team from CIDEB takes in acount the importance of social networks nowadays, as well as the advantages they can offer. One of these being that social networks have wide diffusion possibility that allow a huge number of people to be aware of what’s happening, mainly teenagers, which are the ones that have less knowledge about synthetic biology.

A Facebook page was created, where news, videos, comments about iGEM, things about the team, and synthetic biology were uploaded in order get more people interested in synthetic biology and iGEM; besides, it might connect us with other teams.

The objective was accomplished in this human practice’ activity, for the page got 348 likes, and it got 1,433 people to visit that page. Giving us positive results, as was the case of a student from the Faculty of Chemistry at UANL to get informed about the college team near her, and she is anxious to become part of the team for next year’s contest.
