Future
Our plan for future projects!
We chose this project because of its ability to be scalable. Next year, we can make more parts with various promoters and ribosomal binding sites. To characterize the parts better, we will be using a pyruvate kinase assay and gas chromatography. We also want to examine optimal conditions of cyanobacteria, including experimentation with CO2 limitation to reroute Acetyl-CoA usage in the cell to the alkane pathway. Furthermore, we plan on making a more in-depth and accurate TinkerCell model to show the amount of resources directed into specific pathways in the cell and how we are trying to change that usage. We would also like to expand our community outreach by expanding a BioBuilder.
